10. Christmas Island, Australia

During every rainy season, which takes place in October-November here, the Christmas Island red crabs leave their hiding in the forest and start migrating to the coast to breed. Little crimson creatures color the entire cost and create this breathtaking site!

9. Rainbow Eucalyptus, Northern Hemisphere

Found in places from Indonesia to Philippines and Australia, the unique stripes are so vibrant it is hard to believe they are all natural! It is due to the bark, which changes its color. Therefore, the newer bark differs from the older, creating the incredibly exciting trees!

8. Lake Nakuru, Kenya

The lake is growing an impressive amount of algae, which attracts flamingos. Thousands of beautiful birds line on the shores of the lake, creating this fascinating pink scene of a wildlife. Other animals can be approached as well, including baboons and rhinos.

The lake and its surroundings form the Lake Nakuru National Park, which is worth visiting for its biological diversity and unspoiled nature.

7. The Grand Prismatic Spring, Wyoming, USA

The biggest hot spring in the country is 113 m (370 ft) wide and is found in Yellowstone National Park. It got its name due to the vibrant iridescent colors, that match those of a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green and blue. The effect is caused by bacteria.

Namely, the colorful rings of the spring make it so exceptionally attractive. There is a hiking trail, which enables to observe the spring in close vicinity, while from the top of the hill a great aerial view opens.

6. Caño Cristales, Meta Department, Colombia

Also known as the River of Five Colors, Caño Cristales is the most spectacular natural wonder in the country. Found in the mountain range of Serranía de la Macarena, the river mesmerizes with amazing colors: vivacious yellow, green, blue, black and red shades quiver from the bottom. The Liquid Rainbow is caused by a unique phenomenon: a red plant – Macarenia clavigera – growing in the riverbed.

The river also features waterfalls, pools, and caverns, making it even more dramatic. Furthermore – there are no fish or other creatures, so visitors can enjoy uninterrupted bathing in Caño Cristales.

5. Cherry Blossom Lake, Japan

Lighted Cherry Blossom Lake is located in Japan and attracts visitors with its overwhelming beauty. Sakura is a symbol of Asian cultures and in Japan, the cherry blossom festivals take over the country every spring. Lighted Cherry Blossom Lake is unique because of the lights that are posited under the trees. After the sunset, park brightens with heavenly cherry blossoms and their reflections on the water surface.

4. Painted Hills, Oregon, USA

The stunning site is part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Its name comes from the colorful layers – a result of various geological eras. The scientists also find a lot of fossils, that prove it once being a lush area. The rugged landscape attracts thousands of tourists as well as photographers. During a wet season yellow, orange and red stripes become especially vibrant.

3. Vernazza, Liguria, Italy

A strikingly picturesque it is one of the iconic Cinque Terre towns, that also include Manarola and Riomaggiore. Situated on the Italian Riviera, the town features zero traffic and is an authentic Italian village – after all it was established 1000 A.D. In 1500’s the village was a pirates’ target, therefore Medieval castle Belforte and a whole system of fortification were built.

Visit the village considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy. The whole Cinque Terre is definitely worth visiting once in a lifetime. Since it is erected on a steep peak, great panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the city open.

2. Provence, France

Probably the most prominent feature of Provence is the fragrant lavender fields. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg: due to the geographic features, Provence has many indigenous plants. Among them – picturesque fields of poppies, sage, rosemary, Kermes oak and other plants, characteristic to the Mediterranean region.
